The Project
We were asked by a regular client to refurbish an existing surgery department in a council-built Clinical Centre. The client required a satellite Endoscopy Unit due to a lack of space at their hospital.
The trusts aim was to improve the heavily occupied & strained Endoscopy services by providing a satellite department which patients could travel too locally.
Parias Ltd were involved in the refurbishment & delivery of 3x FDR Visionary Suites (X-Ray Rooms) in various locations across the country. The new spaces have helped enhanced patients, staff & consultants with new X Ray equipment moving to digital. The X Ray Imaging Service has dramatically sped up meaning patients can be seen & assessed much quicker than before.
CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS
We were given a pre-formed room to house our medical gas equipment. However, the space was no where big enough for both the manifold & compressor equipment. We had to source a GRP enclosure, agree a position with the council, install the GRP enclosure externally, re-design the medical gas feeds and carry out the install whilst keeping within the project timeline.
We had to run a waste pipe across the ceiling of the café located directly below our site of works. This was due to the intended positioning of a sink pod within the dirty utility room on our site. We had to work on a Sunday to carry out this installation and needed to ensure the café was left clean & tidy before they re-opened on the Sunday.
The Works
PCI Ltd undertook all construction activities on site such as fire doors, partitioning & suspended ceiling installs. We also supervised sub-contractor installs such as medical gas, ventilation & electrical.
