CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS
- Throughout the course of the project, we were faced with asbestos in the ceiling, an area where we needed to build screens. To overcome this challenge, we used a licensed asbestos contractor to shadow vac drill the screens to the ceiling therefore preventing the working area being exposed to asbestos.
- Given the short windows in which we could work, we managed to complete install of all 43 fire doors, fire alarm and emergency lighting upgrades within the 1 week February half term.
The Works
- We undertook all related construction works on this project and oversaw/ managed the fire alarm and emergency lighting installs.
- Along with the doors, we also built fire rated walls which were constructed out of half height fire rated board and stud and half height fire rated glazing.
