The Project
Thermal efficiency the priority with this project – upon commencement there were window units that had been dry lined and insulated internally due to the poor performance of the aged, existing windows.
The project has now dramatically improved the thermal efficiency of the School, especially in the winter months where keeping pupils warm are a priority.
The installation of 100+ windows and various minor M&E installs (window fans & radiator installs). The result speaks for itself – improved heat retention and an eye-catching façade.
CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS
- The first couple of weeks of the project involved working in the School during term time. Precise cohesion with the School was required and awareness of the school surroundings were required from operatives.
- All 100+ windows needed to be fitted (including making good with decoration) before the pupils returned to school from the summer holidays.
The Works
A 3-month project straddling the summer holidays that saw precise cohesion with the school to ensure that works did not disrupt learning.
