PCI was awarded a comprehensive window replacement project, which involved the removal of existing units and installation of high-performance thermal windows. The scope included more than four different window types, such as fire-rated units, installed across multiple building levels. The project required the use of high-level scaffolding to ensure safe and efficient installation.

Although this was not a D&B contract, PCI produced many drawings for items such as temporary design for the scaffolding, finishes for clients to sign off & highlighting aspects of the built works for Building Control to note & sign off.

The school was located on a high traffic main road in central London. Access in and out site made the logistics challenging. The scaffolding went through many design changes to make it accessible for the members of the public to walk safely during the construction phase. 

An additional traffic management plan was put into place to ensure all motorists and cyclists were aware from the banksman/signage when there were deliveries to and from the project. This was in liaison with the school and local authority. 

As this was a school there were areas during the construction phase where students were using the rooms which meant additional safety precautions were put into place.

The construction works undertaken included the installation and upgrade of several key building elements to enhance performance, safety, and aesthetics. Thermal efficient windows and 60-minute fire-rated windows were fitted to improve energy efficiency and ensure compliance with fire safety standards. External works comprised the installation of cladding and louvres to provide weather protection, ventilation, and a modern façade finish, alongside the application of reflective film to control solar gain and glare. Internally, ceiling and wall decorations were completed to achieve high-quality finishes, complemented by detailed interior and exterior trims.
