PCI were involved during the initial design stage, approval processes, including technical submittals of product details, delivery of the project and the handover process, inclusive of O&M information. This project in particular required a very precise site set and logistical plan to accommodate the nature of the school.
We worked closely with the school to mitigate any risks associated with our work needing to take place, so having a clear program with dates for us all to work to helped alleviate any concerns the school had.
CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS
Due to the nature of the school, we had to adapt to certain situations that were raised during the early stages such as:
- Majority of the works being carried out through half terms, but some works were required to be continued through term time. Careful planning and supervision was required to allow this to happen.
- Ensuring areas were left clean and ready for use after hours worked were carried out.
The Works
The construction itself was relatively straight forward; section off an are of works, remove the M&E service and install the new replacements.
The works consisted of,
- New plantroom installation to re-energize the swimming pool
- New NVHR installation throughout the school
- Installation of new Electrical Mains Distribution upgrade
- Sub circuits and sub distribution upgrades
- New flooring to swimming pool and changing rooms
- Refurbishment of changing room facilities
We liaised with subcontractors to coordinate removal of any the electrical, Mechanical items needing to be isolated/removed and collaboratively work together to carry out the new installation of all equipment throughout this project.
